UK police search for man after ‘Jews will be beheaded one by one’ slogan shouted on London street

Man shouts anti-Jewish slogan

British police have launched an urgent search for a man after a disturbing video surfaced online showing him threatening to “behead Jews one by one” on a street in east London. The incident took place near a mosque on Whitechapel Road in Tower Hamlets, where a group of men were seen chanting pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel slogans while speaking into a camera. In the footage, the man can be heard shouting: “The Jews, you’re going to get beheaded one by one, you dirty Jews.”

He also shouted slogans including “Fuck Israel” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

Police launch urgent probe

The Metropolitan Police said officers rushed to the area after the clip was reported online on Friday and are now trying to identify the suspect.A police spokesperson said: “We understand that incidents like this cause significant concern and we take all reports incredibly seriously.

Hate crime of any kind has no place in our communities.”Authorities said investigations are ongoing and officers are carrying out urgent inquiries.

Jewish community ‘exceptionally concerned’

The Shomrim community security group described the footage as “horrific” and said the Orthodox Jewish community was deeply alarmed by the threats. The organisation said it was working closely with police and that authorities were treating the matter “very seriously.”

Another man visible in the video appeared to attempt to stop the speaker from continuing, though it remains unclear whether the two knew each other.

Rising concerns over antisemitism in UK

The incident comes amid rising concerns over antisemitism in Britain following a series of attacks and threats targeting Jewish communities.Earlier this month, London’s Metropolitan Police announced the formation of a new specialist “community protection team” comprising 100 additional officers tasked with protecting Jewish neighbourhoods and sites.Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley had earlier warned of a increasing “pandemic” of antisemitism across the UK and said hundreds of extra officers were needed across London.
