The car left North Brink, in Wisbech St Mary, and entered the River Nene on Tuesday evening

Police divers are searching for two teenagers who went missing after a car entered a river.

The vehicle left the road on North Brink, in Wisbech St Mary, at about 20:20 GMT on Tuesday, Cambridgeshire Police said.

Five young people, aged between 16 and 18, were in the car, but a male and a female among the group failed to get out.

Police said the three who managed to escape the River Nene were taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Officers warned North Brink would be closed for the rest of Wednesday while searches continued, and urged any witnesses to contact officers.
