Two arrested over murder of man in east Belfast break-in

Two men have been arrested in Scotland on suspicion of murder after a 51-year-old man died following a break-in at an apartment building in east Belfast.

Nicholas (Nicky) Gordon was attacked as a number of intruders entered the property on the Holywood Road early in the morning of 12 May.

He was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.

The men, aged 25 and 31, were arrested in Scotland on Monday afternoon by officers from Police Scotland.

In a statement the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said arrangements are being made to return the men to Northern Ireland for questioning.
