Trump signals US support for Chagos handover deal

Donald Trump has described Sir Keir Starmer's deal to hand the Chagos Islands to Mauritius as the "best he could make", in a sign he now supports the agreement.

The US president labelled the deal an "act of great stupidity" last month, prompting fears he could withdraw his previous support for it.
