Police tape marks a cordon around an area of woodland by the A617 Rainworth Bypass on Saturday

A police cordon has been set up around a wooded area on land next to the A617 in Nottinghamshire.

Nottinghamshire Police attended the site near Rainworth shortly before 15:00 BST on Saturday after reports of a "suspicious incident".

Forensic teams remained at the scene on Sunday and one lane of the east-bound carriageway was coned off.

The force said on Sunday it was an "ongoing incident" and posed no wider threat to the public.
