A 17-year-old boy who died after an incident which led to five arrests has been named as Tristan Shae Kerr.

Police were called to Lower Francis Street in Abertridwr, Caerphilly, at about 17:45 GMT on Thursday after reports a teenage boy, from the village, had sustained a serious injury.

Three men, a 26-year-old from London, a 24-year-old from Abertridwr and an 18-year-old from Cardiff were all arrested on suspicion of murder.

Two women, a 28-year-old from Hereford and 24-year-old from Senghenydd, Caerphilly, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Senior investigating officer Det Ch Insp Jitka Tomkova-Griffiths of Gwent Police said the five people arrested remained in custody on Saturday evening.

She said: "Officers remain in the area to carry out their enquiries.

"While we understand reports like these are concerning, it is important that people do not speculate about the identities of those involved as this could present problems to our investigation."

She said Tristan's family continued to be supported by specialist officers.
