Adin Ross has threatened to file a lawsuit against TMZ after the outlet reported the death of his sister, Madelyn Ross. Speaking on livestream, Ross said the tragedy was meant to stay private and accused someone in his circle of leaking the information, vowing legal action against multiple parties.
This week, the world of online streaming was shaken when popular content creator Adin Ross said he might sue the celebrity news site TMZ. The controversy came up during a recent livestream in which Ross talked about the public disclosure of a deeply personal tragedy involving his family.
Ross explained that the loss had remained intentionally private for months before being reported publicly. According to the outlet, his sister Madelyn Ross died on January 15 in Broward County, Florida, at the age of 36. The report quickly spread online, drawing attention to a family tragedy Ross had not yet shared publicly.

Speaking candidly during his stream, Ross expressed anger over how the information became public and insisted he plans to investigate how the details reached reporters.
He made it clear that the situation crossed a line for him and his family.
“This shit happened a couple months ago. I didn't really want to tell anyone. As you could see, it was a private thing,” Adin said of his sister’s death. “[It’s] horrible that somebody that in my circle got paid by TMZ to release that. I don't know who it was yet, but I'm going to find out. And I'm suing TMZ and I'm suing the county. I'm suing a lot of people.”
His frustration did not stop there. Ross also directed criticism at the broader media ecosystem, referencing the company’s founder in a heated remark during the same broadcast.“It's time to fucking put these motherfuckers in check, I don't know who they think they are, these little Epstein Island lovers.”While Ross works through the emotional aftermath, details surrounding Madelyn’s passing remain limited.
Authorities have not yet released an official cause of death, stating that the investigation is still pending through the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office.Days after the reported death, Ross briefly opened up during another livestream, speaking about the pain of losing someone close without revealing the person’s identity at the time.“It really fucking sucks losing somebody you love. I can't fake it with you guys," he said during his Jan.
22 stream. “It's the worst thing and, fuck, I love you guys. I'm fucking trying to just not think about it … I hate this shit, man. I fucking hate it. I just hate feeling this way.“I wish there was a more peaceful—a more beautiful way to do it, and it's tough. It's really hard and hopefully it all gets figured out."As the situation develops, the disagreement brings attention to a growing debate about celebrity journalism and the thin line between public interest and privacy. Ross's problem is no longer just a headline. It's about protecting the dignity of a family that is going through grief in a harsh spotlight.
