Beatrice House in St Peter Port is Health Connections new home on the high street

A charity in Guernsey wants its new home to become a "place where the community can come together to connect".

CEO of Health Connections Bella Farrell said the health and wellbeing support charity bought Beatrice House in St Peter Port in December 2025 for £1m through private donations.

The charity said it planned to renovate all six floors of the building to help younger and older islanders have a space to come together.

Farrell said: "Beatrice means bringer of joy and I think that's what this is going to do for our charity and for our community."

Bella Farrell stands inside a charity shop, which is warmly lit, with shelves and racks displaying a mix of clothing, accessories, and decorative items.
She is wearing a dark coat with a light grey scarf tucked inside it. She has shorter grey hair and a pair of glasses resting on top of their head.

Bella Farrell said the charity was working to help create a "more connected community"

Despite being "pretty certain that it will cost the same again [£1m] to restore the whole building", Farrell said: "Our mission is creating a connected community.

"Imagine older people teaching younger people skills and telling stories.

"That's what creates a more compassionate, more connected community where people feel they can belong and everybody has that meaning and purpose."
