Boy, 15, charged after school stabbing

A 15-year-old boy has been charged after another was left with serious injuries following a stabbing at a school in Nottingham.

They found a 15-year-old boy with stab wounds and he was taken to hospital where he remains. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The force said a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and two counts of possession of a knife on school premises.

He will appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Det Ch Insp Chris Berryman, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This incident has understandably been deeply upsetting for students, teachers and the wider school community.

"We are grateful for the support of the school and community during our investigation."

In a letter to parents on Friday afternoon, head teacher Dave Thompson confirmed the school would reopen on Monday.

He said it would be returning to its usual routines "as quickly as possible", adding he would be addressing all year groups through assemblies.
